Ok with literally only 2 days before Friends Of Nature Festival (FONFest) hits Key Biscayne, it may be a little short notice, but. I need to let all of you know why you should come down. First of all the location is perfect. Right on the beach, easy way in easy way out. It’s actually at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park to be more specific. There will be a million things to do, from over 60 music acts, to incredible art exhibits. There’s even going to be a Comedy Tent & Movie Theatre tent. I know it sounds amazing right, that’s because it is. The price is right too. 100 bucks for both days, and if you super smart you can get them even cheaper on Living Social.
I could bore you with a ton of words that explain every detail about this incredible festival, but isn’t it way better to just listen to some of the music you will be able to hear? The answer is yes.
Watch In HD!!
Filibusta – I actually saw this dude play, a completely underground set outside his campsite @ Electric Forest 2012. It’s amazing to see that he’s playing FONFest now. The dude has a ton of passion for what he does. So you know his set is going to be super fresh.
Art Official – Miami Based Hip Hop Group That I honestly do not know that much about. That being said, a bunch of my boys who’s musical opinion I hold in high esteem. Told me I would be crazy to miss this set. I’m gonna take their word for it.
Escort – New York Based…. They are going to Kill It In Miami fer sure.
Razihel – Never seen em live, but I Heart all of his remixes. SHOULD be FON.
Dinosaurs & Disasters – Another act that I don’t know too much about, that comes highly recommended by my boys. They are never wrong. So. Be There.
We Are Scientists – These guys kick so much F**king ass at being musicians. All sorts of stoked to hear them live again.
DUB FX – You gotta know who this street performing, electronic looping musician is, and if yah don’t. I gotchu right now.
Dumme Jungs – Ok I honestly don’t expect most of you to know who these peeps from Berlin are. They are absolutely amazing though, and they may even be the act that I am most excited to see. No joke.
ADIX – After listening to a ton of his tracks. I have decided to be very excited to see his FONFest set. It SHOULD be deyope (my word).
JAHFE – This musical act, keeps it real. Like all the time. Respect.
Ok so hopefully that convinced you. I know it got me that much more excited to be there, so it would suck if you missed it for some reason. Check Out the rest of the lineup & getch yo tickets right beneath these words.
Been waiting for a minute for this EP to drop from KOAN Sound & Asa. Well worth the wait, and the money. Peace.
KOAN Sound & Asa – Sanctuary EP
Normally I’m a sponge, and never a faucet, but the fact that Suwannee Hulaween starts in only three short weeks has got me so excited. It was the perfect time, to finally talk about it.
First of all Suwannee Music Park will be transformed into something they are calling Spirit Lake. Apparently the entire park is going to outfitted with art installations and special lights, which to my knowledge. Has never really been done there before. Couple that with getting not one, not two, but three sets from String Cheese on the very first day. I literally cannot think of a better way to celebrate Halloween/Start the weekend festivities.
If the very first night was not enough for you to decide to get there (shame on you). Then I guess we’ll just have to entice you a little more. Let me start by letting you know that the other two nights will not only have another 2 sets from The Cheese EACH. We will also be getting Late Night sets from Big Gigantic Friday & STS9 Saturday. Yes you read that correctly. This is going to be ridiculous.
Suwannee music park has always been the place where artists get silly, and it tends to create some unforgettable set experiences. So don’t be surprised when Dominic Lalli starts playing with Cheese or Vice Versa. STS9 has a track that they can really only play with him around. I remember the last time I went to Bear Creek, he hopped on with Break Science…. Basically what I’m attempting to say is. I know we can look look forward to similar things occurring throughout, and thats f**king amazing. Let’s Make Memories!!!!
There are plenty of other artists coming through for the HulaWeeeeeeekend festivities, including Moon Taxi, Eliot Lipp, Sir Charles & Manic Focus. All of who’s sets you would have to be crazy to miss.
I met Sir Charles for like a hot second during Big Gigantic at BUKU last year. The kid has swag, and so do his tunes. I wouldn’t miss em.
I have actually never gotten the chance to see Moon Taxi Live, but the grapevine told me we should to be at this set. I’m pretty sure grapevines can’t lie.
Eliot Lipp is something else. Especially with the crowd thats gonna be at Hulaween……. YES.
I finally got a chance to see Manic Focus at the Silent Disco of Camp Bisco this year. Dude killed it. Can’t wait.
Alright, if you need more convincing then your dumb, and we don’t wan’t you there anyway. MWhahahahahahaahha Seriously though. You have three weeks, and this is BY FAR the best thing to do with your Halloween Weekend. Be smart. Peace & Love.
Yo, Skrillex & Alvin Risk have been killing it forever. This remix is dope as f**k though, and the Music Video makes me jelly. Peace.
Today started off a little funny, but then I saw that Big Gigantic made a new Dance track, with wonderful vocals from Sabina Sciubba (The Brazilian Girls)… Day Saved. Peace.
